Cappadocia is one of the most beautiful ancient areas in Turkey, and if it isn’t on your bucket list, then it should be! I highly recommend taking the time to visit Cappadocia because this is one of those places on earth that really is unlike anywhere else.
If you asked me to describe İstanbul in only three words, I would say: exiting, fascinating, overwhelming. It is not that easy to find the right adjectives because there are no words to describe the kind of special beauty this city has. This city offers you a journey full of adventures where every single day you experience something different and every new day is better than the day before. It’s amazing how the city hypnotizes you and you just can’t help getting addicted to it.
Even though Sidi Bou Saïd probably isn’t an insider tip anymore, the small town on Tunisia’s Mediterranean coast is still absolutely worth seeing. That’s because the whole village is kept in two colours. Whether church, shutters, awning, park bench or rubbish bin: Simply everything is white and/or blue here.
With its golden beaches and sapphire blue sea, its medieval monuments and its charming marina, Monastir offers one of the most attractive faces of Tunisia.
Thanks to Tunisia’s position, at the meeting point of Africa and Europe, the country is steeped in history and has no less than eight UNESCO world heritage sites. Much like Jordan in the Middle East, a number of these ruins are better preserved than their equivalents in Europe.

In Tunisia’s capital, the term “living history” really does apply. Here, periods of conquest, trade and independence have woven into the city’s fabric and culture a rich and complex flavour that becomes apparent wherever you explore. Despite that, my boyfriend and I decided to stay in nearby Sidi Bou Said, both for logistical reasons as well as aesthetical ones; we wanted a quick access by car to other parts of the country and we also wanted to spend a couple of nights in this beautiful town that bears resemblance to the island of Santorini.
Iceland has some of the most spectacular natural scenery you will see anywhere in the world. It’s a great destination for social distancing, as you’ll be spending plenty of time in your own car or tour bus driving from attraction to attraction. Then, there will be plenty of time spent outdoors at these vast wonders. There are glaciers, ice caves, geysers, geothermal hot springs, enormous waterfalls, dramatic black sand beaches and ancient volcanoes.
Think it’s going to be expensive? It doesn’t have to be. Whatever you’ve budgeted for your adventure is going to go a lot further in Morocco than Tokyo, or Riga than Paris, but it’s possible to live cheaply in any city. And often, traveling like a local makes a trip less expensive, since you’ll be avoiding all those pricey tourist-traps and gift shops.
Travelling excites your senses and opens your eyes to the beauty of the world. You learn how to stop for a while to marvel at the foreign sights and sounds. Among the things that have probably stopped you in your tracks is the beauty of different architectural structures you see for the first time.
