Think it’s going to be expensive? It doesn’t have to be. Whatever you’ve budgeted for your adventure is going to go a lot further in Morocco than Tokyo, or Riga than Paris, but it’s possible to live cheaply in any city. And often, traveling like a local makes a trip less expensive, since you’ll be avoiding all those pricey tourist-traps and gift shops.
If you like your countries monarchic, your cities few and your mountains snowy, Andorra is the place for you. Okay, my guess is that most of you have no idea what I’m talking about unless you’re really good at European geography but this tiny country has one of the most unique histories and cultures in Europe and its magical landscape is what will stay in your memory forever.
Step into the villages of the Atlas Mountains and you’ll feel like you’re stepping back in time as you are immersed in the Morocco of the past, where traditional Berber homes are dotted across the landscape and mules are one of the main modes of transport. The scenery here is breathtaking, with snow dusting the mountain peaks in winter, wildflowers covering the valley floors in spring and incredible views in every direction.
In a country rich with history and culture, Marrakech is a city with unbelievable diversity, vibrancy, culture and a hint of Medina madness. This medieval city is filled with exotic sights, sounds and smells and if this is your first visit to Marrakech, then I want to give you some words of advice so that you too can enjoy the sights and rhythm of this 1000-year-old city much more hassle-free.
Nature has been proven, time and time again, to reduce depression, anxiety, stress, and anger, as well as generally boost psychological wellbeing. Nature can help make you feel happier and more content as a person, which can improve many areas of your life. This is why I always try to immerse myself in nature when travelling, even when in a big city.
Poland’s 4th largest city was astonishingly beautiful and far exceeded any expectations I could have had. It’s also extremely easy to navigate and excellent for walks with most of the amazing places located next to one another.
Visit Wrocław for its beautiful and colourful Gothic Renaissance buildings, cute hidden gnomes and great food scene, and you will definitely fall in love. So if you like old school charm and modern day quirkiness plus a rich culture, Wrocław is going to be perfect for you.
I don’t know about you, but I was always obsessed with fairytale castles. Whenever I’m visiting a new destination I always look for castles as there is just something magical about them! Anywhere I travel, I seek out castles to have a look at. I’m not sure I can pinpoint the moment it started but I have always been fascinated by them.
I just love Christmas Markets. Not per se to shop for handmade Christmas ornaments or other Christmas related knick-knacks, but just the atmosphere and the joy of the Christmas lights.
I live in a country that, unfortunately, is more interested in building rabbit hutch style apartments than creating open green spaces for the physical and mental health of its population. I am therefore always jealous and in awe whenever I visit any large city in Europe.
