Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, is renowned for its stunning architecture, historic sites, and vibrant culture. Dominated by the iconic Edinburgh Castle, the city boasts a rich heritage, with attractions like the Royal Mile and Holyrood Palace. The annual Edinburgh Festival showcases global arts, making it a hub of creativity and tradition.
Granted, it’s not the Amalfi Coastal drive and it’s not the Wild Atlantic Way. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t backdrops of mountains and forests and waterfalls and castles to explore. If you have time on your hands, this otherwise straightforward drive can be turned into a cultural treasure chest.
I don’t know about you, but I was always obsessed with fairytale castles. Whenever I’m visiting a new destination I always look for castles as there is just something magical about them! Anywhere I travel, I seek out castles to have a look at. I’m not sure I can pinpoint the moment it started but I have always been fascinated by them.
