Sremski Karlovci was a short but memorable stop after exploring Novi Sad. With its elegant square, historic landmarks, and peaceful atmosphere, it offered a quieter side of Serbia. A visit to nearby Krušedol Monastery added a final layer of calm before returning to Belgrade.
Novi Sad turned out to be one of the most elegant and easygoing cities I visited in Serbia. With its colourful streets, relaxed atmosphere, and riverside setting, it offered a refreshing contrast to Belgrade. After a few hours exploring its main sights, I continued to the charming town of Sremski Karlovci, adding a quieter and more intimate layer to an already memorable day.
I spent five days discovering Belgrade, wandering from the lively streets of Republic Square to the calm riverbanks of the Sava, exploring historic fortresses, cultural landmarks, and local markets. The city’s mix of history, modernity, and approachable charm made every walk and meal a memorable experience.
This trip was never meant to happen. After my flights to Jordan were cancelled, I found myself heading to Belgrade with no real expectations. What followed was a journey through lively streets, quiet monasteries, and some of the most striking landscapes in Serbia.
I spent an unforgettable afternoon driving from Paphos to Larnaca, stopping at Paphos Castle, Aphrodite’s Beach, Kolossi Castle, Lemesos Castle, and Larnaka Medieval Fort. The combination of dramatic coastlines, historic sites, and charming streets gave a perfect introduction to southern Cyprus before I reached my hotel in the evening.

Abu Dhabi is often overshadowed by Dubai, yet it offers a calmer and more cultural introduction to the UAE. From the breathtaking Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the long, relaxed Corniche to the wide open desert just beyond the city limits, Abu Dhabi rewards travellers who slow down. Staying with my friend Gokul, who has lived here for five years, transformed the experience into something more personal. I saw not just attractions, but daily life, community and how people build a home far from where they were born. This is a city made for more than a stopover.
In February 2026, I found myself trading the familiar chill of winter for the warmth of Abu Dhabi. What began with a chance meeting over coffee at Yanar Dag in Azerbaijan grew into a week-long adventure across the Emirates. From the quiet beauty of Al Ain’s oasis to the vast silence of Liwa’s desert, and the towering ambition of Dubai, the trip was defined as much by the people I met as the landscapes I explored. Staying with a friend I had only known briefly brought a perspective on life abroad that rivalled any guidebook, while the open roads reminded me of the freedom of travel and the unexpected ways a journey can change you.
I don’t know about you, but I was always obsessed with fairytale castles. Whenever I’m visiting a new destination I always look for castles as there is just something magical about them! Anywhere I travel, I seek out castles to have a look at. I’m not sure I can pinpoint the moment it started but I have always been fascinated by them.
